A GIFTED NEED IS A GIFTED COMMUNITY

A gifted need is a Gifted Community!

Wanneer je niet weet wat je mist, weet je niet waar je om moet vragen. Wanneer je niet, of verkeerd, gespiegeld wordt ontstaat verwarring, zelftwijfel en kan van alles verstoord raken in persoonlijke ontwikkeling, relaties en keuzes die je maakt. Dit leidt niet zelden tot ernstige klachten en het miskennen van het hoogbegaafde zelf.

Deze compilatie is een verzameling van ervaringsverhalen en creatieve uitingen over de reis van (her)erkenning tot en met het integreren, thuiskomen bij, en het samenvallen met je ware begaafde zelf.

“After reading Willem Kuipers' work and meeting him personally, I felt so validated. I devoured books like Mary-Elaine Jacobson’s The Gifted Adult, Paula Rober’s Your Rainforest Mind, and Michael Piechowski’s and Susan Daniel’s Living with Intensity. I completely reconstructed my life's narrative, viewing myself through an entirely new lens.

As I healed, my need for mental stimulation, sense of purpose and life energy intensified. So I went online, searching for spaces and events where I could encounter similarly conscious gifted adults who shared my need for complex existential conversations. That’s when I discovered the InterGifted community – exactly what I'd been seeking to continue my gifted journey. To be honest, part of me still felt like an imposter, waiting to be called out, told I didn't belong, that I was a fraud. But that never happened, and I've been a proud member since 2016. Through frequent engagement with global peers, I felt increasingly acknowledged and validated.

While we're supposed to validate ourselves, we can only do so after becoming aware of what needs validating. I was already a self- sufficient, autonomous adult, but integrating my areas and levels of giftedness happened only through endless peer conversations and specific psychoeducation on gifted-related topics. I learned about many additional healing and self development modalities that improved my emotional and energetic healing.”
